Random Facts about Moi

01/17/2013

1. No, I do not speak French despite 1 year in high school.

2. I have 2 girls, 2 boys, 1 son-in-law, 1 daughter-in-law, 1 granddaughter and a grandson on the way. Oh, and of course my husband.

3. We have 7 long-hair chihuahuas at our house. 2 belong to my son and daugher-in-law who do not have an apartment where they can have them right now. I used to breed them.

4. I do not like fruits, I love vegetables.

5. I have a pacemaker.

6. I went back to college when my oldest was in 4th grade and my youngest was not born yet. I have a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and a masters degree in Early Childhood Education. I have an ESL endoresement, a Reading Specialist endoresement and a Math endoresement on my Teaching Certificate. Too bad I did not renew it, if I ever wanted to teach again it would take a lot of post grad hours to reinstate it.

7. I taught for 5 years, unfortunately I am unable to work and may not ever be able to.

8. I have BPD, PTSD, anxiety and a lot of times they do define who I am. I am working on that.

9. I try to walk 2 miles everyday. It is a 50/50 split if it happens or not. My girlfriend helps keep me out there. Sometimes we say we walk so we can talk, not for the exercise.

10. I have several wonderful friends that see the positive in me that I don’t see myself.

11. I was a lifeguard for 11 years. I love the water, my kids love the water, my granddaughter loves the water. 3 of my kids swam on a swim team from the time they were 4 until they graduated High School. They all made it to State Championships at one time or another during High School. Yes, I am a proud momma.

12. Chocolate and ice cream are my serious addictions. I like to make homemade fudge to pour over ice cream.

13. I am great at researching subjects on the internet and putting handouts together for others to use in their presentations. I am too shy and introverted to be in the limelight.

14. My daughters play piano and organ beautifully and I like to sit and listen to them play. The only credit I can take for this is paying for their lessons. Neither my husband or I have any musical talent. Being tone deaf saved me during their earlier years of practice. I never had to be the mom who had to remind them to practice, rather sometimes it was a please stop, you are going to wear out the piano 🙂

15. I cannot sit still and do just one thing to save my life. My brain does not shut off, just a little hypervigilance going on there.

16. I can’t believe this is the final season of Private Practice! I am so bummed.

17. I love HGTV. I like re-doing rooms in my house, it is almost time to start over as I am running out of rooms that have not been done.

18. I am running out of random facts…

19. I like to sit in the dark.

20. I wished I believed the things others see in me.

That was harder than I thought it would be. Trying not to list the what’s wrong with me things, that feels awkward and wrong.
